From July to December in 2020, I suspended my enrollment to MIT and became a teacher at a mission in Haiti, The Have Faith Haiti Mission. I taught a variety of different subjects: Elementary English, Math, Art, Design, and Geography; Middle School Engineering & Design; High School Engineering, Geometry, Chemistry, and Anatomy; and Preschool Dance Class. I also took over administrative responsibilities halfway through the semester. Additionally, I wrote my own curriculum for my Engineering & Design course (Picture on right), as well as the Geometry and Chemistry courses. It was a life changing experience that helped me realize my passion for children and desire to improve the lives of children in whatever career I pursue.

MIT Video & Article

I was grateful to be interviewed by the MIT Mechanical Engineering department and as a result, they released this video along with an article on the main MIT website. It was truly incredible to show how MIT shaped my experience but also bring more publicity to the orphanage.
