Teacher at Have Faith Haiti Mission

I was a teacher at an orphanage in Haiti for 5 months. I taught a variety of different subjects: Elementary English, Math, Art, Design, and Geography; Middle School Engineering & Design; High School Engineering, Geometry, Chemistry, and Anatomy; and Preschool Dance Class. I also took over administrative responsibilities halfway through the semester. Additionally, I wrote my own curriculum for my Engineering & Design course (Picture on right), as well as the Geometry and Chemisty courses.

MIT Video & Article

I was grateful to be interviewed by the MIT Mechanical Engineering department and as a result, they released this video along with an article on the main MIT website. It was truly incredible to show how MIT shaped my experience but also bring more publicity to the orphanage.

Social Media Chair for MIT Surfrider Club

Surfrider is a club dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network. Currently, I am the Social Media Chair and since this club is new at MIT I was tasked with creating our social media presence all together. I have begun by making an Instagram and trying to create fun yet informative posts. I hope to soon expand our presence to other social media platforms as well as keep growing. I also server on the executive board for the club.
